Steven D Cohn
Steven D. Cohn is an associate in our New York office focusing on securities and consumer fraud litigation. Mr. Cohn joined the firm in 2008.

Cases in which Mr. Cohn is involved include:

■ Representation of a union pension fund as lead plaintiff in In re Moody’s Corporation Securities Litigation, a securities class action arising from Moody’s misrepresentation about and in the course of its rating of mortgage-related securities. Classwide losses are estimated to be in the billions;

■ Representation, as lead counsel, in City of Roseville Employees' Retirement System v. Horizon Lines Inc. et al, a securities class action dealing with Horizon Lines’ alleged fixing of the prices of rates, surcharges and other fees charged to customers for Puerto Rico freight service. The case is ongoing;

■ Representation, as lead counsel, in the securities class action In Re Herley Industries Inc. Securities Litigation on behalf of investors. This litigation is ongoing; and

■ Representation, as co-lead counsel, of a class of purchasers of Ford 15 passenger vans in In re Ford Motor Company 5-350 Van Products Liability Litigation (II), a consumer class action. The vans were ruled by the National Highway Transportation Safety Authority as being unusually prone to flipping over.

Immediately prior to joining KM, Mr. Cohn served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office where he also served as the Deputy Chief of the Intellectual Property Crime Unit. In this capacity, he conducted approximately fifteen trials, over forty legal hearings, and over one hundred Grand Jury presentations, and successfully prosecuted numerous criminal matters, including criminal insurance fraud and other financial crimes.

Mr. Cohn is admitted to the New York State Bar and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He graduated from John Hopkins University (B.A., 1998) and from Northwestern University School of Law (J.D., 2004).
