Partner Randall Fox Provides Op-Ed to the New York Daily News on the Value of the New York False Claims Act

Published in: The Daily News
NEW YORK -- KM Partner Randall Fox has published an op-ed piece in the New York Daily News arguing that New York City can use the whistleblower law, New York False Claims Act, to more effectively protect taxpayer dollars from fraud. The Act incentivizes whistleblowers to come forward when they have concrete knowledge of fraud being perpetrated against city and state government agencies, and it protects them from retaliation.

Mr. Fox points out the value of potential whistleblower-informed recoveries -- which can be very substantial -- for the new Mamdani administration in New York City.  For an administration focused on increasing affordability for New Yorkers, bolstering the city's balance sheet through recoveries can play a significant role in supporting expanded services.  Mr. Fox also discusses the types of frauds whistleblowers can help uncover, and outlines ways in which the city and state can signal support for these individuals and further encourage them to come forward.
