Litigation Associate | Chicago

About the Position


Kirby McInerney seeks a Litigation Associate with 2-3 years of experience to join the Firm’s Chicago office.
 

  • In-depth factual and legal research to assess the merits of potential and newly filed class actions; and
  • Prosecution of litigation from inception through trial by drafting pleadings, responding to dispositive motions, and managing affirmative and responsive discovery.

Requirements

 
  • Strong law school academic credentials (e.g., strong GPA/ranking, law journal, other compelling factors) or judicial clerkship experience;
  • 2-3 years litigation experience (securities, commodities, and/or antitrust preferred);
  • Excellent research and writing skills;
  • Genuine interest in a career at a law firm focusing on financial matters;
  • Ability to balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment;
  • Strong work ethic, organizational, team building, and communication skills;
  • Proactive, resourceful and driven by professional growth;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; and
  • Admitted to the Illinois bar and in good standing.


Compensation

 

The expected annual base salary for this role ranges from $100,000 - $130,000. Kirby McInerney considers a number of factors when determining compensation, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, levels of experience, competency levels, and other relevant skills and qualifications.
